Smoky BBQ Oven Wings

Makes approximately 20 wings

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (about 20 pieces)

  • 2 Tbsp avocado oil (or other neutral cooking oil)

  • 2 Tbsp of Abraham's Smoked BBQ Seasoning

  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar (optional for those avoiding carbs)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare the Baking Sheet:
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil (for easy clean up later) and place a wire cooling rack on top. This allows heat to circulate around the wings for even crisping. Or use an air fryer at 400°F (200°C), if you have one large enough, or do 2 round of 10 wings.

  3. Dry the Wings:
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to help them crisp up in the oven.

  4. Oil the Wings:
In a large bowl, toss the wings with 2 tablespoons of avocado oil until evenly coated.

  5. Season:
In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of Abraham's Smoked BBQ Seasoning with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (if you want to introduce a touch of sweetness and encourage a beautifully caramelized exterior). Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the wings and toss in a bowl or bag until well coated.

  6. Arrange on Rack:
Place and separate the wings in a single layer on the prepared wire rack.

  7. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

  8. Flip and Finish:
Flip the wings over and continue baking for another 10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

*may require less time if using an air fryer.

  9. Serve:
Let rest for a few minutes and serve hot. Try them with our Robust Dust Dip!
